ok, so i made myself a hat. not the biggest news... but i really like it. too bad it is in the 70's here- not exactly hat weather... but i am not worried. i know it will be put to good use... when it decides to cool down again.
the yarn is Madelinetosh Vintage in Silver Fox
i like the amount of slouch. not too much, but just enough. i think i should have made it a little longer, though. i cut the pattern short about 6 rows because it thought it was getting too long.
it had a super curled brim when i finished it, but i just ironed it with steam and it came right out.
top view (another batch of awesome photos of myself. i am getting better at putting pics of myself out there, eh? ;)
so of course, when eden saw me taking photos, she had to get a piece of the camera action... so here are a few more. featuring me and my boy.
and our silliness...
and piano playing...
he has been so full (i mean FULL) of energy lately... but we still can find a few moments of sweetness.
and i underestimate how much i like valentine's day art...
the colors, the love... so pretty. we just were experimenting with different papers and some punching, cutting and sewing...
i love working with her- she sees things that i usually miss...
and finally, a couple of new projects. i decided to break up my larger projects with some doll knits. i may be addicted to the quick projects and the sweetness... this is the start of a striped dress made from one of the patterns of Maria Ribbeck (who made Elijah's little Jim Jack doll for christmas). she is one of the finest waldorf doll makers from whom i have had the pleasure to purchase a custom doll and the quality was impeccable. the little knits which came with him inspired me to knit more for the dolls. after all, hugging little knitted garments is so much fun... haha! here are my ravelry notes.
and a little striped sweater for another doll. this pattern is not the greatest as far as fit. it came out huge. i will tell you more later... this is from the leftover toasty yarn. ravelry notes here.
i am trying to commit to only shooting film this month, but it has been difficult to keep up with projects, etc. so i will do a mix. hope to integrate film more in my "documenting" rather than as photographic images which stand alone. not sure if that makes sense, but we shall see...
happy monday...
